Project Stand - Anti-Domestic Violence Center in Asia
Project Stand is a center dedicated to provide shelter, early intervention workshops with children, advice to survivors who are in domestic abuse relationships and training to NGO staff that work with survivors. The project has over the past four years provided shelter and advice to survivors who are in domestic abuse relationships and training to NGO staff that works with survivors. Project Stand is developing a workshop series for family and friends of survivors of domestic abuse and support the fixed costs of shelter and staffing needs of the project.
Project Stand has provided training to five employees of an NGO that fights human trafficking, sheltered three families of domestic abuse (two of which no longer live with their abusers), conducted a workshop to 80 high school students on boundaries in dating, and advised five survivors and over ten friends and family of survivors. Project Stand has also met with key local NGOs in east Asia that have been advocating for survivors for up to 30 years. Project Stand is also in the middle of a legal research on how the recent anti-domestic violence law has been implemented and beginning dialogue on how developing a sexual assault support group with professionals.
